SDS New Infrastructure Opening a Super Race Track for Insurance Internet +!
2020-08-29
On August 29th, 2020, Shanghai, having ‘High-tech Powers Health Insurance Growing’ as its theme, the 2020 InsurHealth Summit opened in success, attracting over 250 middle and senior officials from over 150 insurance technology developers and 20-odd high-tech service providers from home and abroad. On invitation, the SDS also took part in the event with a view to enhance cooperation with insurance underwriters in the field of the data and communication services under the New Infrastructure initiative. In the Summit, in a presentation, Acceleration of Digital Finance, the SDS shared its views with all guests on innovative communication services.
As a communication service provider that has built a sound reputation in Shanghai market, the SDS positioned itself as a company dedicated to the objective of ‘Shanghai as a Center of Startups and Innovations’ by offering startups and innovators with the best possible high-quality data communication services. Up to now, the SDS has established and been operating an information network covering the entire Zhangjiang Science City, 4 Tier4 data centers in Beijing and Shanghai, and 2 private Clouds powered by self-owned patents. In addition, the SDS has almost all certificates required for operating high-class communication services, meets all regulatory requirements on financial institutes, and has extensive experience in how to maintain excellent communication services at the level required by the financial industry.
As all can see, the world is moving into the era of digital society at a faster speed and the process is creating greater needs for easier, more effective and efficient, and more diversified services. The SDS’s innovative services are committed to, while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance, actively promoting the inter-connection of all kinds of data resources, developing a great insurance communication platform in line with the greatest possible engineering standards, at highest possible quality level, and within the shortest possible project time, and, with the help of such platform, assisting Chinese insurance underwriters to achieve flexible resource expansion, optimized IT management, open a super race track for the accelerated development of Chinese insurance industry, and realize a vigorous growth in this adverse market environment.

In this InsurHealth Summit, Mz. Zhang Ying, the SDS’s Product Manager, demonstrated the SDS’s latest Hybrid Networking service, a product designed to replace traditional dedicated-line-based networking technology. Specifically speaking, it adopts a SDWAN-based hybrid networking plan, i.e. using dedicated-lines for important nodes only, and, building the redundant and/or backup lines and non-essential nodes with a SDWAN network. The solution is superior in that it could shorten the project implementation period to within 1 week, while improving the quality to the level of a backbone network and reducing cost by about 70%. It can be said that this product would open a super race track for the ‘Insurance Internet +’ initiative.
The digitalization of financial business means increasingly diversified and intelligent financial services that have to be provided with higher security guarantee and smoother customer experience. On the other hand, the digital financial scenarios are getting increasingly complicated, which has inevitably leaded to higher complexity of the initial deployment and following O&M of a financial network, as well as higher labor cost. When actually pursuing digital transformation, financial institutions would often find themselves being baffled with many pain points, e.g. a great number of branches and outlets to be included in digitalization plan, the surging bandwidth need of those branches and outlets, and high private line cost, etc.
What an enterprise can benefit from line upgrading:
1.Whole link LTT, end-to-end WAN optimization, IPSec-powered data encryption;
2.Multiple network access redundant backups, ensuring high availability;
3.Unified management, intelligent monitoring and scheduling, improved management efficiency;
4.Multiple access modes available, including CPE, virtualized tools and user terminal tools;
5.Fast and flexible deployment;
Not long ago, the SDS just completed a line-upgrading project for an insurance underwriter. The project was made up of dedicated lines, hybrid networking, internet and line optimization, and other services. The dedicated line is the key node connecting Shanghai and Beijing. While the Suzhou, Nanjing and Shandong nodes are connected with a large bandwidth SDWAN hybrid network. The Microsoft Cloud is connected with a 2G private line. And the overseas nodes can enjoy a 100M bandwidth powered by the SDS’s SaaS service.
In conclusion, all the IT-upgrading needs of the insurance underwriter were fully met with a solution that is characterized by concise initial network deployment and O&M plan, high-level security guarantee and smooth business operation, effective connection between all operating branches and Clouds, and reduced overall line costs.
In the year 2020, as China further opens her insurance market to the world, the overseas insurance underwriters are entering Chinese market at faster speed. There is a great challenge emerging in front of Chinese insurance institutes, when the foreign insurance giants are stepping in the playground and the domestic market is experiencing great changes in customer needs and service scenarios resulting from the fast development of internet applications and social reforms and progress. In response to such fierce competition, the SDS worked out a series of New Infrastructure services to create a superior race track for Chinese insurance underwriters to carry on the ‘Insurance Internet +’ initiative, launch new products in a shorter time, achieve full scenario service flow, and fast and effective business evolution.
