On September 9th, 2020, Beijing, in the DCIC 2020 sponsored by China Association of Communication Enterprises, relying on ‘DC-Cloud-Network Integration’, an innovative service provided through its IDX Data Centers, the Shanghai Data Solution was announce as one of ‘Excellent Data Center of the Year 2020’! On invitation, Mr. Zhu Junjie, Vice GM of SDS, took part in the Conference and the “DC Night – Symposium On the 10th Anniversary of Data Center Industry”.

The DCIC (China Data Center Industry Conference) is one of the most influential meetings in Chinese data center industry. Up to now, it has made great contributions to promote the development, the green upgrading, the industrial integration, and the internal exchanges in the industry. Mr. Xi Guohua, the Ex-Minister of MIIT and Ex-Chairman of the Board of China Mobile, attended the Conference and made an opening speech.

This year, selecting ‘5G, Cloud-DC Integration and Cross-disciplinary Innovation’ as its theme, the DCIC focused on the exploration and discussion over the green development of data centers, innovation-powered development and other hot topics. After that, in an award-giving ceremony, it announced the winners of 2019-2020 DCIC awards and offers a special section for award-winning organizations and main contributors to share their experiences.

In 2020, the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held a meeting and pointed out explicitly that China needed to accelerate the development of New Infrastructure represented by 5G Network, Data Centers, AI and other new technologies. Although the data center had been an important IT infrastructure of the growth of digital economy, it was for the first time in history identified as an essential part of the New Infrastructure. This highlighted the essential role that the data centers shall play in boosting, by innovation and development, the transformation of digitized society.

Being a third-party data center operator focusing on Tier 1 city market, the SDS has established 4 IDX data centers that represent the highest standard of its kind (the T4 Standard) in Beijing and Shanghai, offering the market 4,500 computer cabinets in total. In August, the SDS’s Special Industrial Cloud Platform received the ZhanLu Award in the WAIC 2020! With the joint effort of IBM, ZhangJiang Park and the SDS, the Watson Build, an AI platform designed to offer all AI companies in the Zhangjiang Park with a wonderful technology incubator, successfully started operation. In addition to that, Siemens, Zhangjiang Park and the SDS joined hand and launched a medical research and development platform for the small biomedical enterprises in the Zhangjiang Park to enjoy a strong technological platform facilitating their medical development.

The enterprise digital transformation is a capacity improving process based on safe and smooth changes.
