Project Background

Company W was planning to set up a new VIP Zone in SDS IDX JinQiao Data Center. As part of the engineering work, all user equipments and data-lines needs to be uninstalled from the original computer cabinet and moved to the new VIP Zone. All these equipments and lines are essential to the Company W’s business operation. So, to maintain their performance is significant to its future business development. 

To meet all these needs, SDS provided the Company W with many resources, including high-performance and high-reliability data center, abundant internet accesses, high-efficiency private data lines, MSTP, the private lines for fast communication platform (18 core data lines in total). All-together, they are packed in a one-stop service project that offers high performance communication network resources to guarantee the user meet the needs arising with its fast business development. 

To Shanghai Data Solution: 

We planned to add a new VIP Zone in your JinQiao Data Center in December 2016. To ensure there is sufficient time for relocation, it’s decided that the relocation will be completed during the 2017 New Year’s Day Holiday. Considering the great influence of this relocation project in the SDS data center to our business operation, both parties attached great importance to the project. 

Standing up to the heavy workload in a short schedule, people from both parties joined hands with each other and made great efforts to have successfully completed the relocation project. As it turned out after the switching, all systems run normally. The success is of great importance to the continuity of our existing businesses and the development of our future businesses. With this letter, we wish to thank all SDS teams for your hard-working and professionalism. Especially, we are very grateful to Mr. Huang Jiajie, our Project Manager, and Mr. Zhang Chentao, our Account Manager for their dedication to the project. Mr. Huang Jiajie gave up his New Year’s Day Holiday, a great time to spend with families, for the project. Every day, he worked with us till late in the evening for three days until the project was successfully completed. Once again, allow us to extend our sincerest thanks to them for their dedication!  

Finally, we wish, with unremitting efforts from both sides, we could tighten the friendly cooperation relationship between us! Again, our best wishes to you for all your kind help!

  Project in Progress             

1、 On-site Data Line Survey: 

Identify and check out all data lines need to be relocated; Find all relevant information files and run a comparison against it after the relocation; Run another on-site check with the user’s staff based on the comparison results to ensure zero mistake; 

2、 Work out a Cut-over Plan according to the user’s needs and site conditions: 

While maintain original wiring unchanged, start an in-house pre-wiring project and mark out all key points after the mapping is approved; Switch from the old lines to new ones in a time window specified by the user; Since all the user equipments need to be relocated, there is no room for roll-back; It has to be done successfully one off.  

3、 Keep good user communication while assisting equipment relocation: 

Although the equipment relocation and data line cut-over was scheduled in a holiday, because all preliminary works were done properly, although there were two data lines encountered a little trouble, the user systems restarted normal operation successfully after the switching.  

 

Reliable Because of Professionalism

Looking back over the Company W relocation project, from the wiring survey in the early stage to the final relocation in the last stage, we think that the preliminary work is more important. To do a good preparation, we need not only look closely into every data line and every detail, but also keep a good communication with our customer. It’s been proven in this cooperation project that the success of a project depends on great coordination between our users and us, the SDS.
