Hyper-Converged Cloud Platform: VDC2.0 Debut Ceremony Held Successfully

On May 18th, 2018, Shanghai, the SDS VDC2.0 Cloud Platform Debut Ceremony & Experience Party was successfully held in the President Building of Ruijin Hotel. The star of this Experience Party is VDC2.0, a hyper converged Cloud platform that SDS took two years to develop and upgrade independently. The VDC2.0 is a self-owned IPR product. Based on Openstack technology, it integrated in itself all architectures ranging from IaaS to SaaS, making it a platform combining all key elements from physical infrastructure to services. Attracted to the new product, a great number of visitors, e.g. representatives of our cooperative partners, channel runners, and software developers, took part in the event.
When addressing the debut ceremony, Mr. Huang Wei, Vice General Manager of SDS, extended his sincere thanks to all guests in the presence for their time and their kind support, saying that their supports had been essential to SDS’s development. Relying on over 20 years’ experience in communication service industry and over 10 years’ experience in providing datacenter services, SDS is committed to the operational principle of ‘High-quality Service’. In order to promote the market, SDS started investing in Cloud computing five years ago under a guideline of developing a ‘Cloud that makes difference’ and, finally, is able to provide the market with a Cloud computing service that features high performance and high availability, namely, the VDC2.0. In addition to that, SDS is working on more services that could relieve from our users more burdens and help them lower operational costs. Mr. Huang, then, made a promise to all guests that, with the support from partners here, SDS would and could deliver a stronger and longer Cloud computing service for all users with better VDC products.

Mr. Qian Yu, the Business Director of R&D Department of SDS, delivered a presentation of the extraordinary performance of the VDC2.0. He particularly stressed that it is a Cloud and a datacenter. It is based on the most matured open-source Cloud platform technology in the world, the Openstack. After secondary development and optimization, with Kubemetes’s Docker (container) technology, it is able to meet the needs of different organizations in different industries to ‘Go Cloud’. The high performance and high availability of the VDC2.0 enables users to work out calculation examples of a deployment within a few minutes. What its Cloud servers can do is more than providing mirror cloning, creating snapshot backups, or do elastic stretching, they can help users to expand digital operation scale according to exact business needs, to meet their users’ needs with tailored billing modes, and better focus on business operation itself.

Mr. Sun Junwei from SDS Marketing and Sales Department brought audiences an easy-to-understand and visual introduction of VDC2.0 products. He made it very clear that, unlike other Cloud platforms, the VDC2.0 is an enterprise-class Cloud platform customized for enterprise users only. Since it is based on Openstack technologies, it supports the docking with excellent third-party software. Also, the enterprise users are given the highest authority so that they could achieve integrated R&D and production and the virtualization at application layer. What’s more, there is no need to worry about the compatibility of VDC2.0. It can be docked with all mainstream Cloud platforms on the market at business layer, enabling users to achieve cross-Cloud deployment and online migration.
Yingyue Information, a cooperative partner, shared with guests a new product, namely, the SDS Container Cloud, a container-architecture-based Cloud management engine developed on the basis of SDS VDC2.0. Since it supports DevOps model, the SDS Container Cloud can offer both developers and O&M people with an integrated management mode that’s never seen before, i.e. CI/CD Automatic Release and O&M Experience. Then, Yingyue sent a formal invitation to all guests in presence and SDS R&D Team to take part in SDS Container Cloud First Test Run Ceremony, so that people could have a personal experience of how this single management platform, built on the basis of VDC2.0, could integrate multiple datacenter networks and achieve an Cloud platform that can consolidate all architectures.
Hanyin Information, another partner of SDS, shared with audience a presentation, ‘Enterprise Deployment Case Sharing’. The Hanyin is an industry-leading company specializing in mobile payment and internet payment business operations in China. With the Payment Business License from the People’s Bank of China, it is now providing industrial and individual customers with reliable, convenient and fast third-party payment services, as well as professional services around relevant applications. Following the general trend of rapid development of mobile internet, the Hanyin would, join hands with SDS, commit itself in providing better services for all industries.
The VDC2.0 Cloud Platform Debut Ceremony & Experience Party is not only an event to unveil to the public the SDS’s ‘secret weapon’, the VDC2.0. It is a brilliant demonstration of SDS’s latest operation achievement. It is our wish that this Party could help the public have better understanding over this flexible and scalable Cloud platform.
